Well I am diving into flipping my classroom, and have designated Fridays for our flips. This weeks Flip is in the language department. My students are working on writing, so they are being introduced to two literary devices. Alliteration and Similes. Please take a look at the videos below

Today we are taking a look at some non-fiction texts and focusing on how to mark up a text while reading using our reading strategies. Here is a great prezi for using those strategies as we read. We have to remember that Reading is Thinking.

Our class has begun to read Freak the Mighty – what inferences can we about the cover? What is this book about? What predictions can we make? My students have come up with Questions to Discover – will they be right?

Well summer vacation has official come to a close and tomorrow is the first day of school I can’t wait to meet all of my students and enjoy our first day!
Parents and students welcome officially to The Creative Sevens, here are a few things you may need tomorrow to be prepared:
1. Five three ring binders (Science, French, Language/Geo/History, Math, Music/Art)
2. Lined Paper
3. A combination lock
4. Pencil Case with pencils, pens (blue/black/red), pencil crayons, eraser, glue, pencil sharpener, calculator, ruler
5. A box of tissues
and of course an awesome attitude 🙂
